Business Development Manager ANZ

About the role

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for leading both direct and channel sales activities within the Australia and New Zealand Market for Thinxtra’s extensive portfolio of IoT related solutions and products. The role will be responsible for identifying and generating sales leads in addition to processing marketing generated leads, ensuring that the right solution is put forward to the customer and revenue outcome is achieved.

The role will be responsible for identifying direct customers in target industries. The role will have sales expertise relating to the IoT value chain, or target industry verticals and will use their exceptional communication skills to build a network of relevant stakeholders within the customers allowing them to uncover new opportunities and deliver positive sales outcomes.

The role will be a mid-senior role with experience in Consultative solution selling and direct ownership of driving sales initiatives to achieve and exceed revenue targets with the support of marketing and pre-sales teams. Domain expertise within Utilities and Facility Management is desirable.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy tailored to the region, focusing on key verticals such as utilities, facility management, and logistics.
  • Become a trusted advisor to both customers and channel partners.
  • Identify and target potential clients, partners, and stakeholders in the IoT ecosystem.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and industry leaders.
  • Explore and develop strategic partnerships and alliances that can enhance the company’s market position and product offerings.
  • Drive sales initiatives to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to create tailored proposals, presentations, and product demonstrations that address client needs.
  • Manage the sales pipeline, from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring a high conversion rate.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their challenges and objectives, ensuring the delivery of customised IoT solutions that meet their business needs.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing ongoing support and fostering long-term relationships.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and work with internal teams to address any issues or concerns.
  • Identify market opportunities and provide feedback to product/marketing teams to drive campaign activity and product roadmap.
  • Manage a pipeline and ensure accurate and up-to-date data is maintained within the company CRM system.
  • Demonstrated experience in Business Development and identifying and engaging potential customers.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably in the IoT, technology, or telecommunications industry.
  • Proven track record of driving business growth and achieving sales targets in the Australia and/or New Zealand markets, direct sales.
  • Demonstrated experience in solution selling in a consultative manner.
  • Self-starter with lots of initiative, drive, and ability to hunt and open new doors.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new concepts quickly.
  • Ability to engage at all levels within a customer or partner organization.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
