About Thinxtra’s nomination
Thinxtra has risen from a start-up, to become a key IoT enabler and network provider in the Asia Pacific region. Thinxtra is rapidly deploying nationwide the Sigfox’s low cost, Low Powered, Wide Area Network (LPWAN) technology to enable everything to connect from tracking pallets, shopping trolleys, courier packages or livestock to monitor home appliances performance, exit signs, cold chain (from farm to fork) temperature or simply metering water and gas, sending short messages to the internet back to customers’s IoT platform.
Loic Barancourt, CEO of Thinxtra mentioned “We’ve successfully signed major contracts for over 1.4 million connections on the Sigfox network with over 50 million potential connections in the pipeline. The partnerships we have established with businesses like Kordia and Silicon Controls and early adoption from local universities, government and institutions is rapidly transforming the business. We also wanted to support early on the local community, providing free connectivity and development kits to Cities innovation centres, Universities researchers and teachers, as well as supporting actively local hackathons” He says “We’re excited by the potential opportunities, Australians are early adopters, unique innovators and do not hesitate to commit at scale to leverage the IoT. The next 12 months look set to be even bigger: we will be launching complete end-to-end solutions, a new IoT program to fast track adoption and enabling more and more channel partners and customers to start rolling out their projects as devices are becoming cheaper and widely available.”
